Voice

Every line of Henry's dialogue, listed in order of appearance.

(Yellow lines are voiced)

  1. “Good evening.”

  2. “Yes. I’ve been sent to purchase the week’s groceries for the household.”

  3. “It’s just part of my duties. And may I ask where you are bound?”

  4. “No, I’m afraid I haven’t. I’m very sorry I can’t help you.”

  5. “...”

  6. “...”

  7. “Yes. I wish you luck.”

  8. “Hm.”

  9. “As long as I live, this city will not be harmed. The rest is irrelevant.”

  10. “...”

  11. “...”

  12. “You’re wrong!”

  13. “I know, Angela. Let’s just go home.”

  14. “It’s all right, Miss Angela. Master Randall will return. I know it.”

  15. “You needn’t worry, Miss Angela. Master Randall said this would be his last expedition. Isn’t that right?”

  16. “Not at all.”

  17. “Master Randall, I’ve brought some tea.”

  18. “It was nothing. I’m glad I could be of service.”

  19. “You’ve worked so long and so hard to fulfil this dream, I felt I had to do something…”

  20. “It was no trouble, truly.”

  21. “Unfortunately, no. I must remain here to perform my household duties.”

  22. “I assume you still take your tea with milk?”

  23. “You’re very welcome. I would never ask a servant to wait on an old acquaintance.”

  24. “You might find that a bit strange, but I hope it doesn’t make you uncomfortable.”

  25. “I wouldn’t call myself successful. I’ve just been very lucky.”

  26. “To what do I owe the honour of this visit?”

  27. “Yes. Why?”

  28. “Absurd. Those chariots cannot be taken out of the stadium without my written permission.”

  29. “Each one has a serial number that is logged if it is ever removed.”

  30. “What are you implying, Layton?”

  31. “Well… that’s unsettling.”

  32. “Layton, you can’t be serious.”

  33. “This is a ridiculously far-fetched notion, Layton.”

  34. “Pure conjecture, but if you must, continue.”

  35. “While I obviously can’t prevent you from suspecting me, I do believe you’re forgetting something important.”

  36. “No one’s fortune is more tied to this city than mine. If it collapses, I am ruined.”

  37. “Layton, am I hearing you correctly? Are you insinuating that I hired the Masked Gentleman to boost tourism?”

  38. “My wife apparently trusts you enough to have summoned you here.”

  39. “But 18 years ago, you left Randall for dead and ran off to London. I don’t trust you.”

  40. “You betrayed the memory of your friend. Now you have the nerve to make these ludicrous accusations in my own home?”

  41. “I explored every inch of that ancient deathtrap with nothing but Randall’s notes as a guide. Out of loyalty to him.”

  42. “You have no right to be here. You dishonour his name.”

  43. “Leave, Layton. There is nothing more to discuss.”

  44. “I have nothing more to say to you.”

  45. “Angela, please escort our guests out.”

  46. “We have nothing more to discuss.”

  47. “Layton! A moment, if you please!”

  48. “I apologise for my behaviour earlier.”

  49. “My responsibility is to my city. I will do whatever it takes to help you apprehend the Masked Gentleman.”

  50. “I’m just glad we’ve arrived in time. What do you know about his plans for tonight?”

  51. “Really? What sort of clues?”

  52. “Well then, what are we waiting for?”

  53. “That’s not the way to Tingly Tower!”

  54. “A panic in the middle of a crowded fairground could be catastrophic.”

  55. “We must prevent his next miracle somehow.”

  56. “Blast! He’s disappeared into the control tower.”

  57. “Industrial-grade power relays, mostly. All the electricity for the park is routed through the tower.”

  58. “Naturally we keep it locked so that nobody can-”

  59. “Augh! What if he cuts off the power to the rides? He could endanger all the visitors!”

  60. “No, I’ve never needed to come in here before. Erm, let’s see…”

  61. “Where are you?! Show yourself, villain. How dare you threaten my city?!”

  62. “How dare you!”

  63. “He can’t be far. He must have come back this way, no?”

  64. “No! We’re too late!”

  65. “Impossible. It has to be a trick!”

  66. “You monster! Why are you doing all this?!”

  67. “Angela!”

  68. “Wait! No!”

  69. “Angela! ANGELA!”

  70. “They went this way! We can still catch them!”

  71. “Angela! I’m coming!”

  72. “Angela, where are you?!”

  73. “What are you talking about? Who are you? What have I done to you?!”

  74. “What is that lunatic planning?”

  75. “I don’t know… But it’s my duty to protect this city.”

  76. “I… can’t. That treasure…”

  77. “Angela, I’m not hiding anything. Why would you say that?”

  78. “He wanted me to see it.”

  79. “No, I don’t know… I don’t know anyone who could be capable of this. Why has he gone so far?”

  80. “I’m going home. I need time to think. I need to construct some sort of plan for that monster’s return tomorrow.”

  81. “Yes, Master Randall. The cart is loaded and should be ready for your departure.”

  82. “…Yes, sir. My apologies. It seemed rather important.”

  83. “Please don’t worry, Miss Angela. Master Randall has a remarkable mind. He’ll find what he seeks and return soon.”

  84. “I’m certain of it.”

  85. “Professor Layton. How may I help you?”

  86. “I gave a full report to the police. They’re now investigating what happened.”

  87. “What?”

  88. “That’s hard to imagine…”

  89. “Besides, nothing gets built in this town without my permission.”

  90. “I’ve said this before, Layton, and I’ll say it again. I do not need to explain myself to you.”

  91. “The town of Monte d’Or is under my supervision, and I will do as I see fit.”

  92. “...”

  93. “Very well, I won’t stand in your way.”

  94. “Most officials and businesses in town will cooperate if you give them my name.”

  95. “But I’m afraid that is all I can do for you. I have my own work to do.”

  96. “Now, I must take my leave.”

  97. “Please feel free to look around my study.”

  98. “If you find something useful, you may take it with you.”

  99. “If you’ll excuse me.”

  100. “Leaving already? I was just making some tea.”

  101. “Well, no matter. We’ll have time for tea when everything is resolved.”

  102. “Please understand that I will assist you whenever I feel that I can.”

  103. “Let me know if there’s anything I can do.”

  104. “What stunt will the Masked Gentleman try to pull tonight? I just have no idea how he thinks…”

  105. “But how?”

  106. “Master Randall? Is that really you?!”

  107. “Master Randall, please! You’ve got it all wrong! Let me explain!”

  108. “You… you had amnesia?”

  109. “Master Randall! Wait!”

  110. “Master Randall… How could you think…?”

  111. “Thank you, Mordaunt. We must make Master Randall see the truth before he does something terrible.”

  112. “Quickly, let’s go!”

  113. “I still find it hard to believe. Is it really Master Randall?”

  114. “This town was built on an oasis, and it lies in what is basically a big bowl. If there’s no way up, there’s no way out.”

  115. “Understood. We’ll follow you to the monument.”

  116. “What are you talking about, Angela?”

  117. “I have no idea where it is. You of all people should know that!”

  118. “How could I forget? They were like nothing I’d ever seen before.”

  119. “But I didn’t know what they meant.”

  120. “What is it?”

  121. “It’s the same shape as those markings!”

  122. “I just… I never thought…”

  123. “Dalston, listen to me. Randall is the Masked Gentleman.”

  124. “It’s true, Dalston! Randall is alive!”

  125. “He’s heading for the gallery plaza. We have to stop him!”

  126. "Master Randall…”

  127. “That’s not true!”

  128. “We have something to tell you.”

  129. “You weren’t yourself. And now that you are, and back here with us… everything is going to be okay.”

  130. “Master Randall! After all these years, there’s no… There’s no way… I’m letting you get away from us that easily!”

  131. “Master Randall, do you really not know? You’ve always looked out for me.”

  132. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to… I just wanted to play with it!”

  133. “Master Randall, can you please forgive me for playing with your toy?”

  134. “But it’s your favourite.”

  135. “Thank you, Master Randall! I promise to take care of it and always treasure it!”

  136. “You taught me something invaluable that day, Master Randall… and gave me something to treasure. You treated me not just as an equal, Randall, but also as a brother. And that has always meant more to me than any amount of riches ever could.”

  137. As the years went by, it became clear to me that our friendship was my most valuable treasure.”

  138. “There’s nothing more to say, Master Randall. We all knew you would return. We just didn’t think you’d take so long.”

  139. “No more apologies. Welcome home.”

  140. “None whatsoever.”

  141. “Thank you.”

  142. “Yes.”

  143. “I think we may be the only ones to have received a warning letter from the Masked Gentleman.”

  144. “The police wanted to know if I had any idea who might be after the Mask of Chaos. Who indeed?”

  145. “Excuse me, Angela. I must go out and assess the damage done to the town.”

  146. “We will need to mobilise the repair teams. Everything must be perfect for Master Randall’s return.”

  147. “Will you wait for Master Randall with me? Wherever he is, I know he’ll come looking for us one day.”

  148. “I intend to go and live at the Reunion Inn to wait for his return. The Mask of Chaos will be my sign to him.”

  149. “No, I’m certain Master Randall will come back to us one day.”

  150. “And I think he will be sad if you are not there to greet him, Miss Angela.”

  151. “I apologise for my indiscretion, but I’ve heard that your parents wish to arrange your marriage to Mr Dalston. I…”

  152. “I have all the wealth from the Akbadain treasure.”

  153. “If you came to Monte d’Or, I could provide for you, as well as Mr and Mrs Ascot.”

  154. “Of course, if you have resolved to marry Mr Dalston, I cannot stand in your way.”

  155. “Exactly. No trace of him was found! Which means he didn’t die in there, Miss Angela.”

  156. “You may think me naïve, but this simple fact changes everything for me. Master Randall is alive somewhere.”

  157. “I owe a debt to Master Randall, one I can never repay.”

  158. “Just as he came to my rescue in my time of need, I intend to do all I can for him in his absence.”

  159. “If you feel the same, Miss Angela, perhaps you will consider coming to Monte d’Or to wait for his return.”

  160. “Truly? Then I am glad.”

  161. “Until Master Randall’s return, you can rely on me to protect and care for you.”

  162. “Good afternoon. Is it true that you’re going to London?”

  163. “But what about Master Randall? What if he’s still alive somewhere in the Akbadain ruins and needs our help?”

  164. “I see. Well, I’m not giving up. I know we’ll find him.”

  165. “Enjoy your life in London.”

  166. “Master Randall is alive, and we’re going to find him. I’m sure of it.”

  167. “Master Randall used to sneak out at night, without his father knowing.”

  168. “And when Mrs Ascot found out, she felt bound to tell Mr Ascot, so I was always treading on eggshells.”

  169. “Standing here now, I feel as if Randall could come back at any moment. He’ll just come over the hill with Angela…”

  170. “Lost. He is lost. Nothing more.”

  171. “I know Master Randall will come back. He’d never break a promise.”

  172. “My main concern at present is Mr and Mrs Ascot. They are taking it all very hard.”
